Detailed Itinerary Hunza and Skardu Autumn Tour

You’ll be welcomed at the Islamabad airport and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, you’ll go on a city tour of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, visiting Faisal Mosque, Shakar Parian, Pakistan monument, Damen Koh, Lok Versa, Museum, and the old bazaars of Rawalpindi, including Raja Bazaar.

The day starts with a 279 km drive to Naran. After lunch, the journey continues for 3-4 hours to Chilas (113.3 km) via the Babusar Pass. This pass is at an elevation of 4,173 m (13,691 ft) and is known as the highest point in the Kaghan Valley, connecting it to Chilas on the Karakoram Highway.

You’ll drive for 8-9 hours along the Indus River to Skardu (290 km). The route includes a stop at the junction point of three great mountain ranges: The Karakorum, Himalaya, and Hindukush. You’ll also stop at Thalichi for a view of Nanga Parbat (8,126 m).

In the morning, you’ll drive 35 km to Shigar Valley to visit the Shigar Fort and the Cold Desert, also known as the Katpana Desert. In the afternoon, you’ll visit Satpara Lake and hike for two hours to Kharpocho fort from Skardu city.

This day is a 100 km drive to Khaplu village. You’ll visit the Chaqchan Mosque, Khpalu fort, and the village itself. In the evening, you’ll drive back to Skardu.

The journey continues with a 240 km drive to Gilgit. After lunch there, you’ll visit the Gilgit Bazaar and Kargah Buddha. The day concludes with a 100 km drive to Hunza Valley, with stops for photos and refreshments.

The morning is dedicated to visiting the 700-year-old Baltit Fort and Baltit village. In the afternoon, you’ll see the 900-year-old Altit Fort, Altit village, and a women carpenters project. The evening includes a walk along the water channel from Karimabad to Hyderabad village.
